Starting Monday 11th January, we’re calling everyone who want’s to get a bit more active while having mighty craic to join our OT group! If you want to walk, try exercise, lose weight, get off the couch, talk healthy food recipes or just want see a few more friendly faces during the week – dig out your trainers…
Register from 6.30pm in St. Declan’s Hall (come yourself, with a friend or family). As an entire group we’ll be part of the ‘Million Pound Challenge’, where Ireland has been tasked with losing one million pounds of weight. Oklahoma (USA) completed this challenge already!
How will it work?
1. Come to the Hall to register with €2
2. You’ll have your start weight taken privately by Triona Hennessy (this will remain confidential)
3. Only the collective total of weight loss will be shared
4. You’ll get a sheet to keep track of your own loss
5. Organised walks start Wed and there are 3 routes mapped out
Weekly weigh in every Monday (completely private)
During the 8 week programme we’re looking to organise nutritional talks as well as fitness tasters – stay tuned for more info on these!
There are 3 suggested routes for walks varying between 3km & 5km long for Mondays and Wednesdays. Daytime weekend walks suit family walks.
NB. all evening walkers must wear viz-vests and carry a torch.
