Every year, the Pattern Festival’s ‘An Audience with…’ series of talks in St Paul’s Church proves very popular. Last year, writers and journalists such as Anthony Summers and Joe Duffy entertained us. And this year we’re delighted to say we’ve got a cracking line up of speakers from the worlds of fiction, politics, exploration, criminology and investigative journalism.
An Audience with Sinead Moriarty

Visiting author Sinead Moriarty began writing creatively when working as a journalist in London. Her first novel was snapped up by Penguin and has since been translated into 25 languages. Eight books later, her most recent work ‘This Child of Mine’ recently went straight in at number one on the Irish Charts.
An Audience with Mary O’Rourke

Mary O’Rourke has been a TD and a Senator. She has served as Minister for Education, Health and Public Enterprise. But more importantly than all that, she once took part in Celebrity Bainisteoir! We’re delighted to have her here and we’re sure she’ll entertain all who listen to her talk – no matter what their own political leanings!
An Audience with Charlie Bird

‘From North Pole to South Pole and Places in Between’ is the title of iconic television presenter Charlie Bird’s talk at this year’s festival. Having trekked in the footsteps of notable explorers such as Scott, Shackleton and of course Kerry’s own Tom Crean, Charlie is sure to have some lively stories with which to entertain all in St. Paul’s Church.

Author, journalist and criminologist, Paul Williams, brings his own unique insights on life to Ardmore Pattern Festival this year. Having written the acclaimed bestseller ‘The General’ about Martin Cahill – amongst many other works – his talk is sure to be interesting and thought-provoking.
‘The Missing Postman’ An Audience with Fachtna Ó Drisceoil

Author Fachtna Ó Drisceoil speaks about the ongoing mystery that surrounds the disappearance of postman Larry Griffin on Christmas Day 1929 in Stradbally, Co. Waterford. His book on the subject, ‘The Missing Postman’, will be on sale on the day and Fachtna will be happy to sign copies.
Reader’s Choice book store from Lower Main Street, Dungarvan will have copies of books by all of the 2013 Ardmore Pattern Festival guest speakers available to purchase and have signed by the authors over the weekend. Ardmore Pattern Festival is delighted to partner with Reader’s Choice for this year’s festival.
